Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

Here is a metabug to list weird and random effects I get with quickllist on 0.2.26:
* I got quite reliably before restarting unity that all quicklists with indicator support (like rhythmbox and tomboy) have their "indicator part (play/pause/prev/next/tomboy notes" with a transparent background. Only this part and not the usual name/quit application
* If I rush in a icon and right click before the title appears (the name of the application), I can get a quicklist without the application name.
* on some sessions, I get no indicator support (no notes in tomboy icon, no music/play/pause in rhythmbox one)
* for quicklist with indicator support like rhythmbox, there is an extra blank line as first.

I'm too seeing artifacts when rushing the pointer over the launchers followed by a right click (see screenshots).

I've seen this too. The variable-heightness of the quicklists for tomboy etc seem to cause trouble for the rendering.

Didier or Hernando: can you check that issue again with the latest version 0.2.28-0ubuntu4. This bug was fixed last thursday, as part of the beta release.

an easier way to reproduce 2, from seb128:
- click on an launcher to start an application, then click twice to expose in and out
- the launcher is focused without bubble
- right click on the launcher, you have the menu opening with a separator but no title

There are many asynchronous calls related to the quicklist... Many issues seems related to the computation of the quicklist representation while the menu is not fully filled yet...

Having such a "meta-bug" makes it difficult to work on a review for a proposal. When reviewing a merge-proposal the comment from the submitter has to be very specific so the reviewer knows what's actually meant to be fixed. We should avoid such meta-bugs.
