Can't launch apps like synaptic with root privileges from launch bar

Bug Description

The only way to launch an app that needs to have root privileges is through the terminal or the apps file. This is not a good thing. We need to be able to launch these from the launch bar and have the password box come up instead of the notice that it is being opened in a useless state.

This no longer seems to be an issue. I tested by searching for and opening synaptic, typing in my password and installing an application

Actually still happens with the launcher, but not with places. Assigning to gord.

Took a look, turns out bamf is not giving us the right desktop file for synaptic, its giving us synaptic-kde.desktop instead of synaptic.desktop - which means its trying to launch without root. so i'm assigning this one over to jason + bamf

You'll have to remove your old synaptic favourite, and start it again from places and re-add it to the launcher, but this works for me now.
