The launcher bubbles are displayed with quite some flickering when activating the places view

I've not sees this yet myself. Could you perhaps provide a small screencast capturing the exact nature of the flicker (flashing black or white etc). Thanks in advance.

On which hardware (GPU) and driver do you see this, seb?

the issue happens wtill with today's update in the applications view, just move over launchers when the place is displayed, I can do a screencast later on if really required

the issue seems fixed with unity 0.2.16 in Maverick. previously I faced this too.

that's still an issue in 0.2.16 but you need scrollbars to be displayed

I shuffled the z-order of the places/launcher/panel recently which I believe has fixed this (I can't see it on Intel i965 or nVidia). Please re-open if it's still an issue.
