Bug Description
Binary package hint: banshee
When using the latest packages for Karmic, Banshee notifications do not update when skipping songs.
For example, start playing a song. While the 'now playing' notification is on the screen, skip three times using a keyboard hotkey.
The notification will not update. Instead, the original notification will stay on screen for its alloted time, then the next song will appear for its time, then the next, until finally getting to the current song.
Essentially, it is as though each song as a notification in a queue, and the notification system iterates through the queue, instead of jumping to the latest entry when a song is skipped.
I have attached a screenshot, showing Banshee playing a song, but the notification in the top right of screen showing the previous song. After that notification faded out, the notification for the current song appeared.
I've submitted a patch upstream for this, and it has been committed. It'll be
brought over to Ubuntu in due time, hopefully before Karmic is out.
