There is now an option to control whether the slope limiting for the vertex-based Kuzmin scheme is applied directly to the velocity or to the velocity tendency in the momentum equation solve. This is controlled by the schema node at:

prognostic/ temporal_ discretisation/ discontinuous_ galerkin/ limit_slope_ apply_to_ tendency Note this commit switches the default behaviour *back* to applying it to the velocity.

The Kuzmin vertex-based limiter can now be applied to the tendency in both the advection-diffusion and momentum equation. Note that this is an option that needs to be enabled in the schema for the advection-diffusion equation, but is currently enforced for the momentum equation (an option needs to be added here).

Adding back in a bug fix I did ages ago. It was removed when I incorporated changes from a 3rd party into the biology python module. Must be more careful in future and construct a test of this

Bugfix for Bug #900774.
This is a work around for a known bug in the advance option when using stream IO for formatted reads:
http://software. intel.com/ en-us/forums/ showthread. php?t=101333 The exact intel compiler version may have to be tweaked as the Intel fix has not yet been released.
