Bug Description

At the start of user sessions, alarm-clock-applet spawns a window that sits at 0,0, i.e. obscured by the panel. Instead of doing this, it should start up with --hidden, and let the window manager choose where to position its window.

Changing /etc/xdg/autostart/alarm-clock-applet.desktop to have Exec=/usr/bin/alarm-clock-applet --hidden instead of /usr/bin/alarm-clock-applet works well as a temporary workaround, but I believe this should be used as the default behaviour.

Whoops, it wasn't an upstream issue. My mistake there.

I agree with this, I always need to move the window, then close it. It isn't critical, but it would be nice to start it hidden

Need to reopen as it should be "--hidden" instead of "--hide" and that disables autostart completely on precise so far.

Here is the trivial fix.

Please give it a freeze execption, as it was a typo in the first place.

Jep that's true, AFAIK you need to delete the old entry from "/home/USER/.config/autostart/" and then copy "/etc/xdg/autostart/alarm-clock-applet.desktop" to that place.

An alternative is to use the GUI for editing autostarts and just change the command to "--hidden".
