Bug Description
Binary package hint: dell-recovery
Binary package hint: dell-recovery
Version: 0.69
Summary:
A third-generation recovery image fails to be generated. First generation images are created in BTO builder mode or laid down in the factory. Second generation images are images created from the first generation images on a system. If a second generation image is laid on a system and then the user attempts to create a recovery image from that, it will fail.
This is because of some subtle differences in the way that a utility partition is handled during image capture.
Impact:
Users won't be able to generate recovery images twice in a row (when they receive a system, they will already have a first generation image on it).
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Build a BTO image using builder mode (--builder)
2) Lay that image on a system
3) From that system, create a backup image using standard mode
4) Lay that new image on a system
5) From that newly imaged system, attempt to create a backup using standard mode.
Regression Potential:
None. This fix only tests for the existence of an intermediary file used in the recovery process and aborts the failing portion of the code otherwise.
