Bug Description
As part of the "install" target of the Makefile, the following line is executed:
install -g root -o root -m 755 ....
On Mac OS 10.6, a default group of "root" does not exist.
Hence the install process stops at this point.
Removing the -g option or inserting a defined group resolves the issue
