Bug Description

Binary package hint: mplayer

Please rebuild with VDPAU (nvidia hardware acceleration for video decoding) support. I just tested it on mplayer-checkout-2009-07-01, but I believe it should work with the version currently in karmic.

I would guess you just need to add --enable-vdpau to the ./configure.

Correction: I guess a build-dep package will need to be created containing the two .h files from nvidia: ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/vdpau/include/vdpau/

According to a couple debian bugs looks like these .h files were packages by debian in nvidia-glx-dev v185.18.14-1, but they're not in debian's nvidia-glx-dev v185.18.36-2.

I emailed the person who closed the latter of these two to find out what happened.

The .h files are in nvidia-180-libvdpau-dev in jaunty and nvidia-185-libvdpau-dev in karmic.

So again I think all that is needed is "--enable-vdpau".
