No Icons in Launcher after "Bookmark in Launcher"

Bug Description

I am using Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04. I have all of the latest updates. The "bookmark in launcher" functionality of Firefox does not work correctly with the UNR launcher.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Firefox v. 3.0.9 --- Click the heart icon in the toolbar with alt tag "Bookmark in Launcher." (Next to home icon).

2) Window pops up asking for name and icon. Here the icon is shown correctly.

3) Go back to the main launcher. There is now an entry for the favorite you just saved. However, the icon is not carried over and a default icon is used for all Firefox entries.

This functionality is great for limiting the number of clicks to get to sites that are used frequently.

after further investigation, this is a bug with netbook-launcher, not webfav. The problem is netbook-launcher is trying to save the favicon in a directory that does not exist and that is failing.

I will commit a fix today to bzr. As a temporary workaround, if you create the following directory manually you should see the icons saved in the launcher:
mkdir -p ~/.config/netbook-remix--launcher/icons

Thanks for the quick fix. The workaround works. I guess the only big downside to the functionality is the very poor resolution of the favicons.

This bug is also present currently in Karmic Koala. Your suggested fixes do not work.

Paul, i have just tested this on Karmic final release and i can confirm that it has in fact not been fixed.
I can reproduce the bug with the steps given above. The dir ~/.config/netbook-launcher/icons exists already so the given workaround cannot be applied here.

As upstream set it as Won't Fix, we will stick with there decision.
At least, the workaround work, I've just test it on lucid :)

what is the work around? I used google chrome to make a shortcut, but after adding shortcut to favorites there is blank ugly icon instead of fancy icon i choosed for this item in menu.
