Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I was following the instructions on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/IntrepidUpgrades/Kubuntu and before beginning the actual upgrade (it was on Getting Packages) it failed on the 'kubuntu-kde4-desktop' package.

I had similar error message. But I managed to get this install going by using adept to remove all packages with word kde4 or kde 4 in them.

I can confirm that work-around - I searched all packages (using adept) with 'kde4', removed them, and the upgrade tool worked just fine.

This bug was fixed in the package update-manager - 1:0.93.32

update-manager (1:0.93.32) intrepid; urgency=low

  * DistUpgrade/DistUpgradeQuirks.py:
    - when transitioning from kubuntu-kde4-desktop to kubuntu-desktop
      consider key dependencies as well even if kubuntu-kde4-desktop
      is no longer installed (LP: #277285)
