Bug Description
With the attached example file, running it as `python3 example.py` I get a bunch of progress signals, but then it times out before getting the finished signal. After that, ubuntu-

Ah. Note that if you comment out the md5 checksums in DOWNLOADS, then you do get the finished signal and the files do end up being downloaded.
