Looks good, though I think we're both missing:

ALL_LINGUAS="`cat "$srcdir/po/LINGUAS" | grep -v '^#'`"
and
AM_GLIB_GNU_GETTEXT

in configure.ac, the former will actually load all the translations and the latter will do some glib gettext magic
