Fixes LP #1225810 and LP #1225812

Description of the change

Removed duplicate testcase that "checks the clean Recent functionality". Fixes LP #1225810.

Fixed the code used that checks if "new files can be added to the 'New Document' submenu". Fixes LP #1225812.
