Just for your information, what I do:
. use VPN from another computer
. set up the screen size to 720X576, the smallest 5:4 screen size available for my test computer.
. Take the screenshots on my main computer, upon which there is a VPN window of a 720X576 screen.
. Use a photo editor to extract the desired screen shot, using a defined box size for the extraction.
. Down sample the image to the desired size, if required. Due to the small screen size used, loss of detail during the re-sampling is minimized (which your shots are pretty good for detail also).
