Thanks for your work. This fix is something that all distros and users of this library could benefit from. Would you mind submitting this fix to Debian? Once in Debian, it is a small matter for Ubuntu to sync the patch from Debian, and it is then no extra work for us to carry a patch that is not Ubuntu specific.
