My Unity launcher settings fail with Unity 2D

Bug Description

Running precise beta 1 on a 32 bit system with Unity 2d. Most of the MyUnity settings work with Unity 2D, but none of the settings on the launcher tab have any effect at all. This is very confusing and is a problem for those of us with high-end graphics cards that can't run Unity 3D due to driver problems.

MyUnity is designed to work with Unity 3D. Unfortunately Unity 2D has very few settings.

I can understand that, but then MyUnity should determine if Unity 2D or 3D is being used and only enable those settings that are appropriate to the current session. Otherwise, new users are likely to be confused.

Determine if Unity 2D or 3D running, is the next job to be done.

FWIW:

$ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION

I believe It is "ubuntu-2d" for Unity 2D and "ubuntu" for Unity.
