Hello,

I've just installed rakarrack and when trying to start it from the very first time jackd crashes.

I'm running:
Ubuntu oneiric (development branch) 11.10
jackd2 1.9.7~dfsg-1ubuntu2 from http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/universe amd64 Packages
rakarrach 0.6.1-3 0 from http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/universe amd64 Packages

Worth noting: when I updated today, libffado was changed, and that's the library doing the bogus free().

This is actually a bug at libffado, probably caused by the latest rebuild with latest binutils. Upstream bug http://subversion.ffado.org/ticket/329

Yes, I can confirm that when the "jackd2-firewire" package is removed (I only needed to use an ALSA device) the bug goes away.
