Bug Description

We have these strings[1] in language-selector:

data/incomplete-language-support-gnome.note.in:6
The language support files for your selected language seem to be incomplete. You can install the missing components by clicking on "Run this action now" and follow the instructions. An active internet connection is required. If you would like to do this at a later time, please use "System -> Administration -> Language Support" instead.

LanguageSelector/gtk/GtkLanguageSelector.py:582
Usually this is related to an error in your software archive or software manager. Check your software preferences in the System > Administration menu.

However, we have no System -> Administration menu anymore.

Thanks for your effort to improve Ubuntu by reporting these issues. You are right, of course, and I have started to prepare a merge proposal.

As regards the spot in GtkLanguageSelector.py, do you possibly know which "software preferences" they are referring to? To be honest, I don't.

I think it refers to the Software Sources tool, which was called Software Properties some time ago, and the binary is still called software-properties-gtk, and tries to say that the user might need to enable another mirror.

@Gabor
That explanation sounds plausible; thanks!

Sure, I have no objections against changing this, even if it means new strings.

Strange, these strings didn't appeared in LP Translations, despite being in the locally built package. How is this possible? The import queue is empty: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/oneiric/+source/update-notifier/+imports and the link in the original report still finds the old strings.

The new strings appeared in Precise, so this part is good. I have no idea why was the template not extracted for Oneiric, but I have uploaded a new one, so this part should be fine too.
