The actual error, comprehensively hidden by guile to the point where I had to single-step through dlopen in order to find it, is:
/tmp/ buildd/ guile-gnome- platform- 2.16.1/ corba/gnome/ corba/. libs/libguile- gnome-corba- 2.so.0: undefined symbol: TC_ORBit_ ITypes_ struct
This symbol is in /usr/lib/ libORBit- 2.so. libguile- gnome-corba- 2 has:
NEEDED libguile- gnome-gobject- 2.so.0
NEEDED libguile.so.17
NEEDED libpthread.so.0
NEEDED libc.so.6
TC_ORBit_ITypes is used directly by libguile- gnome-corba, so it should link against it directly too. I'll fix this and forward upstream.
