The problem seems to be it is compiled with --fatal-warnings and the "copying delegates is discouraged" warnings are causing the compilation to stop.

We haven't tested Shotwell with Vala 0.13 because of this issue. If you want to make it build, you can disable fatal warnings in the makefile.
