If we are talking about the same thing here (The path given in File ->
Open Remote Image), then it will take only a few minutes, as soon as I
have the time to do it.

Hi Borut,
Yes, I know, but what changes do you except? The path specified there
will change the remote path in "File -> Open Remote Image..."
The path should be affected, but you are right, it is not changed.
If you what do choose another server when clicking on "Add Layer", you
won't be able to change it from within JHelioviewer. (It is possible,
though, it requires a correct mirror of our server).
Best regards
Markus

Hi Borut,
no, you don't need an http server to use your jpip server. The idea of
specifing corresponding http path of the jpip server is to simplify
image selection. When providing an http path, you can browse through the
directories of the server and select an image within this structure.
It is just a feature for convenience.
Best regards,
Markus

Hi Marcus,
What is "Options -> Preferences -> Defaults - Default remote path jpip://
delphi.
Is this not a place where a different jpip server could be defined?
What is jpip://
helioviewer.
"Open Remote File"?
My understanding is that I don't need http server to run jpip server. In
jpip server config file path to jp2
images is defined. JHelioviewer will scan this path for jp2 files.
Best,
Borut

Hi Borut,
When you open "File -> Open Remote File", there is the path of a jpip
server. You can change this value, it is not constant. But every time
you open the dialog, it will be reseted to the default value. This
default value can be specified at "Options -> Preferences -> Defaults
- Default remote path". This value does nothing else than changing the
default path in "File -> Open Remote File"
Of course you can run a jpip server without a http server. But when the
jp2-archive is accessible via http, JHelioviewer is able to present a
list of all directories and jp2-files on the server, so that you can
select one from the list. If no corresponding http path is given, you
have to specify the path of the image directly by typing its path to the
input box.
Best regards,
Markus

Hi Borut,
You have to specify a file, not a directory. So, the text of the second
input field has to end with ".jp2" or ".jpx".

Hi Marcus,
The value of jpip server in "File -> Open Remote File" never change.
Changing "Default remote path" is working. Restarting JHV give correct
new "Default remote path". However, jpip server path in "Open Remote File"
is always the same: jpip://

Borut

Hi Markus,
From your information and from esa-jpip-server log file I learned
how to setup path and now I am able to run movies.
I think there is at least one bug in "Open Remote File":
1. If "Default remote path" is changed, "Open Remote File" JPIP server IP
address is not changed.
2. As long as "Remote Image Path:" is wrong, JPIP Server address will stay
jpip:
In case "Remote Image Path" is wrong message should pop up and tell this.
Doesn't server tell to client where data are? In this case "Remote Image
Path" is not needed.
Best,
Borut
