Bug Description

To reproduce:

  1. Starting in the centre of the screen
  2. Slide pointer up to top-edge of screen
  3. Slide pointer left to top-left corner pixel
  4. Slide pointer down to left-edge of screen
  5. Slide pointer right to centre of the screen

What happens:

  Launcher gets stuck open

What should happen:

  Launcher should autohide

This is a fairly frequent occurrence. As use-case that causes it is aiming for the browser back-button and overshooting in all directions, after which the browser back button (original target) is now covered and inaccessible!

After talking to Paul, it's not 100% reproducible and seems to be related to missing nux events. We didn't have a bug for tracking it, let's take this one as a reference.

Perhaps it was fixed for some, but I have:
nux-tools:
  Installed: 0.9.46-0ubuntu4

...and the unity panel is stuck open, making my computer very hard to use. All updates are current as of 23.4.2011, can't reboot atm because I have too much work open.

Just as Peter said,

the panel is stuck open sometimes.

fweigend@falco-pc:~$ dpkg --list|grep nux-tools
ii nux-tools 0.9.46-0ubuntu4

the workaround, which works for me, is to drag an icon from the desktop over the panel and back again.
After that, it's working normal.

Regards

Same problem here, and the work-around above works for me, however it appears to be somewhat linked to my use of Aqua Data Studio (it is written in Java). Once the launcher is locked, I can exit Aqua Data Studio and everything returns to normal....

Dont know if its relevant.

I have the same problem with LibreOffice.

This is a big problem, because some of the menu are not accessible when the bar is stuck.

I'm running 3.8.12-0ubuntu1 unity.

I think we either reopen this bug, or we should make a new one.

Closing LibreOffice resolve the problem and the bar gets back to normal behaviour

I can confirm that this just happened to me with Libre open. Didn;t know that was the cause till I found this bug. Closed libre and immediatly the panel autohid itself
