Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

In the unity launcher now the partitions appear. I have an external drive with 4 partitions, and an internal hard drive with 4 more partitions.

1) All the partitions appear, thus 8 items are shown, eating up more then half of the launcher (1080p) - this can be considered an opinion, must not be fixed
2) The internal HDDs partitions have a question mark icon, while they display the HDD icon in nautilus
See the screenshot attached.

Same thing on Fresh Natty alpha2 64 bits : 2 of my 3 internal HDD drives (the 2 ones where Ubuntu OS is not installed and have only one full partition) appear in left dock with gray "?" icon.

I do not need these icons, as I have the Place menu to put my favorite folders, it takes part of the dock where I prefer put applications icons.

Is there a way to remove them from dock, I didn't find how for the moment (this is not a bug, more a wishlist feature) ?

There is Bug #711671 too; which is also about the '?' icon, but about mounted partitions.
If we are not differentiating mounted/unmounted icons, we could dup it to this bug.

I can't run Unity to test my code.
I don't understand why is it so difficult to test this.
I followed the instruction in the INSTALL file but I'm not able to start Unity.
