Wrong german translation

Hallo,

danke für den Hinweis. Da ich Inkscape in der englischen Version verwende, ist mir das Problem bislang noch nicht aufgefallen. Ich habe den Bug auch bei Inkscape registriert, da die Übersetzungen dort gemacht werden.

sorry for the delay. Here are a couple of thoughts on the topic. For "build-in" and "build-out" I would suggest "Einblenden" and "Ausblenden", respectively. The four effect types are trickier, but I think the suggestions of the original bug description are pretty good.

None => keine Animation
Appear => Direkt (über Schwarz), although technically more accurate, I don't know if the addition "(über Schwarz)" might not be confusing
Fade => Faden
Pop => Aufpoppen

The last two are somewhat "neudeutsch", but I could not think of a better alternative. Maybe we could change the text from just "fade" to "fade in" and "fade out". Doing so would allow us to use "einblenden" and "ausblenden".

Another idea would be to check how these strings were translated in LibreOffice. I tried to find something in the documentation (my installation is english), but to no avail.

@~suv and @uwesch: How do you want to proceed? Do you have suggestions for the translation? Should I commit the new strings, or is there a special procedure to follow with the translation?

You can commit the new strings so that we have fade in and fade out.

The 0.48.x branch is bugfix only, and strings should not be modified here
(mainly because we don't want to ask the translators to update the po files and
thus save some time). Could you please revert your last commit?

Note that the strings in inkscape.pot (and thus in the code) are considered locked, but it's still possible to modify the de.po file in the 0.48.x branch.

Thanks for watching out. I reverted the changes of the string in 0.48 and left them only in trunk.

@Uwe: I guess we are back to "Faden" in 0.48, since you can't distinguish between build-in and build-out. For trunk however, you can commit the more meaningful translations.

In the actual trunk the German po file is cleaned. I hope that we have the suggested strings in de.po.

@Hannes: Can you check the strings to make sure that there are th right translations?

Currently, I do not have access to my computer. I can have a look at the file in about two weeks time. I hope this is still fine with the release dates.

In my Linux Mint 14, I still have the wrong translation files - do you know where the corrected translations ended up?

I would even recommend to replace the menu entry 'Installation/Aktualisierung' by something like 'Für dieses SVG aktivieren/SVG aktualisieren', because it can be confounded with installation/Update of JessyInk, and it does not become clear right away that this is the first step that must be done in order to use Jessyink (and that it does not update the software).

Translation updated in the trunk (rev. 13840) and 0.91.x branch (rev. 13692).
