Bug Description

Binary package hint: indicator-sound

When manipulating the sound level with the keyboard, I was looking for a way to increase the sound with smaller increments (shift+arrows? no... alt+arrows? no...). I hit Ctrl + right arrow which instantly brought the sound to maximum volume.

The result can be an unpleasant surprise if using speakers, but if using headphones, it can range from jolt-from-the-seat-screaming (my case) to plain hearing damage.

I believe this keyboard shortcut should be disabled. I understand the wish to standardize behavior but I just cannot think of a reason for allowing the sound to jump to maximum, at any time.

Software: up-to-date Ubuntu 10.10 standard
Reproduce: click on any of the top-right menus, navigate with keyboard to the sound level slider, hit ctrl+right arrow (don’t do this while playing music!).
