Bug Description

Hello Team!
Cairo-Dock version: latest 2.2.0-0beta2
I'm using GNOME with Compiz.

From time to time I'm experiencing issues with rendering of the switcher applet. Sometimes applet stops drawing updates of the previews of the windows and some desktops are transparent, without any wallpapers/windows. The only way to fix this is to restart the CD.
Take a look at provided screenshot for illustration of this bug.

This bug is reproducible on NVidia and Intel graphics cards.

Hello Igor,

Thank you for this bug report!
I confirm it but it's not easy to find the problem. Personally, my wallpaper changes every 15min. Sometime I've this bug, sometime all is ok.
Maybe a refresh should be added 5sec after any changes ?
BTW, you can do a right click on it / Switcher / Refresh ;)

Changed in cairo-dock-core:
status: New → Confirmed

Hi,
does it also occur in cairo mode ?
also, does the "refresh" action in the menu fixes the problem ?

Hi!
Sorry for silence.
It's not easy to reproduce this bug and as I'm using only OpenGL mode I can't tell anything about cairo mode.
What about "refresh" action - it's not working. There are no effect when I try to refresh the switcher applet. But turning applet off and then on fixes the issue.

would you mind running the dock in cairo mode for some time and see if the
bug occurs too ?
or alternatively, find a way to reprocuce the bug (put the computer in sleep
mode ? change the screen resolution ?)
Thanks for your help.

Looks like cairo mode is not touched by this bug. But I'm not sure as CD restarts itself very often in cairo mode.

I think you can just restart the applet, can you confirm ?
do you have a reproductible way to trigger this bug ? I had it once ago, but
I couldn't reproduce it any more.

Did someone find a way to trigger this bug ? it happens to me randomly, something like once a day, but I can never guess what triggered it. :-/
also, I'm using OpenGL, so I'm not sure it happens without, anyone knows ?
