Silently fails to sync folder outside of home directory

Thank you for taking the time to submit this bug report. I can confirm this behavior. Selecting a folder outside of the users $HOME results in no notification to the user that this operation is not successful.

The expected behavior:
R-click the folder outside of $HOME
Select 'Syncronize with Ubuntu One'
A dialog box opens telling the user this operation is not permitted.
