Bug Description

Binary package hint: xdg-user-dirs

The translations included inside xdg-user-dirs package on /usr/share/locale/xx/LC_MESSAGES/xdg-user-dirs.mo are out to date. Translations included in language packs on /usr/share/locale-langpack/xx/LC_MESSAGES/xdg-user-dirs.mo are up to date using the latest Launchpad translations, but xdg-user-dirs don't use them.

Please, update the xdg-user-dirs package using the latest translations from Launchpad before Lucid release.

Some days ago, Gabor started a table in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NonLanguagePackTranslationDeadline to track similar issues. xdg-user-dirs is on the table, and I've now added this bug to it.

We'll try to deal with all of this bugs on NonLanguagePackTranslationDeadline

The xdg-user-dirs.mo inside /usr/share/locale/xx/LC_MESSAGES is still
outdated, but the .mo file included in the langpack is up to date by
now. The question is: why we need a .mo file inside /usr/share/locale
and another one inside /usr/share/locale-langpack? Which is the best
one, or the right one? Which one is used by GNOME desktop?

At least I think so, since my folder names are not updated according to the newest translations on Launchpad.

Lithuanians also have this problem, Ubuntu developers, please release new xdg-user-dirs package with updated translations from launchpad before Ubuntu 12.04 beta2 release
