likewise-open5-gui still present under Lucid

I see you're running Lucid. Likewise Open 5.x is provided by the likewise-open-* packages in Lucid, and
likewise-open5-gui-5.0 should have been upgraded to likewise-open-gui-5.4 as part of the upgrade process.

Looks like some dummy packages are missing to ensure a smooth transition.

I had the same issue in Lucid beta. did apt-get purge likewise-open5-gui then apt-get install likewise-open-gui and all is well.

thats is confusing ... either need to install likewise-open-gui @ likewise-open5-gui ... but then if u installing the likewise-open-gui then another dependencies for likewise-open5 will not use anymore.

i also can confirm that missing liblwnetclientapi.so.0 in lucid beta 1

Hmm...Looks like I missed a depends requirement in the likewise-open5-gui package.

I don't understand

What state was the box previously in? Was a prior version of likewise-open installed? From Lucid Alpha 2 maybe?

I get the exact same problem.

Installed the proper release of Lucid on a fresh server, apt-get upgrade, then installed likewise-open.

I then came across the bug where W2K DCs can't be joined, so uninstalled the packages and added your PPA:

http://ppa.launchpad.net/likewise-open/likewise-open-ppa/ubuntu/pool/main/l/likewise-open/

... then did an apt-get upgrade. Does the above error every time. I've tried purging everything, including krb5_user and krb5_config, no dice.

Anything I can do to help progress this? It's a big of a showstopper here.

By the way, the error in post #8 above is the one I get (not the original bug report)

I know what the LWREG_ERROR_NO_SUCH_KEY_OR_VALUE issue. I'll have a new deb in the PPA later today I hopefully that addresses this.
