Got the same "crash" now when opening softwarecentral.

I think i just started it and moved the mouse over the screenshot of a program (didn't click).
Software central is still going but something crashed as I got the crash-icon appear next to the clock.

This is after the "fix"

Hi Johan, thanks for your report. The fix for this bug is in Software Center version 1.1.17. Since this version was only just recently released, so it's possible you don't have the new version yet. You can check the version easily from within Software Center using Help->About, or on the command line type:

sudo apt-get update
apt-cache policy software-center

The latter will show you the version that you have installed, and whether the new version is available in the repository. If it is, you can upgrade to it using Update Manager as usual.

If indeed you are still seeing this error and you have 1.1.17 installed, please report back here about it.

Thanks again for taking the time to test and to submit bug reports, your help is very much appreciated!

Oh, Im so very sorry.
I just checked and I still got the 1.1.16.1 version.
Really sorry to take your time, but thank you for the very polite answer.

I'll wait until I get the new version and check again.

/Johan

Just had a crash report come up while trying to remove a program. I am running the updated 1.1.17 version of Software-center.

Hi Sumo. If you see the crash report again, please be sure to submit the bug via the crash dialog so the we will have the details needed to find the cause. Since you are running version 1.1.17 of Software Center, it's likely that the crash that you saw is not related to this particular bug and that would indicate a different/new problem that needs to be fixed.

Thanks for your comment and for your testing, it's much appreciated!
