Bug Description

Binary package hint: foomatic-db

I use the web interface to print a test page to the Lexmark Optra E laser printer. The "Lexmark Optra E Foomatic/hpijs" from hardy still works fine and reports media limits of 6x5 millimeters. The lucid "Lexmark Optra E Foomatic/hpijs-pcl5e" driver uses 0x0 media limits and thus prints off the paper.

(I tried to verify the hpijs being left-over from my hardy install but it's kind of hard to track printer driver origin -> question 102464 at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+question/102464)

The lucid gutenprint driver uses 4x4 media limits and that seems to be still usable, but it's quite close to the edge, especially on the right side and bottom.

This bug was fixed in the package foomatic-db - 20100216-0ubuntu2

---------------
foomatic-db (20100216-0ubuntu2) lucid; urgency=low

  * debian/patches/fix-margins-in-inches.patch: Fixed margin definitions in
several Foomatic XML files. The unit setting got lost when the margins
were given in inches (LP: #529279).
