Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

- This does not happen with the default install. Where the session menu is present.
For further information about papercuts criteria, please read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut.

Don't worry though, this bug has been marked as "Invalid" only in the papercuts project.

Just to be clear.
Are you reporting that the menu options lockscreen, logout, shutdown are shown when the indicator-applet-session is removed from the panel?

If so , it is not a bug. Those options are meant to be displayed when the indicator-applet-session is removed from the panel.

I really only consider indicator-applet-complete useful for debugging (I use it as such) so I'm not sure how important this is to fix. But, the patch that removes these entries when the session menu applet or FUSA is on the panel is in gnome-panel. That patch would have to have the IndicatorAppletComplete added to it. I'll let the gnome-panel maintainers decide what they want to do there. I'm of mixed mind as I don't expect anyone to really have indicator-applet-complete installed unless they're serious tweekers :)

Ted, I like to move the clock to the middle of the panel, and therefore using indicator-applet-complete makes more sense because with it I can benefit from full mouse scrubbing. I don't consider moving the clock to be "serious tweaking", and having partial mouse scrubbing despite all indicators being together feels very strange

The current code detects whether indicator-applet-session is running. Ideally, it should detect whether indicator-session is running regardless of which indicator-applet is currently containing it.

This should be fixed prior to 11.04 being released, since as far as end-users are concerned, it's a regression.
