Thank you for helping with making Ubuntu and Nautilus Actions better by reporting this bug.
I can confirm this crash on an up-to-date installation of Ubuntu 10.04 Alpha 2. I'll attach my GDB stacktrace (obtained using the 'bt' command) and either forward this bug upstream or link it to an already existing report.

Last I checked - several days ago - 2.29.4 will open and create actions though they are not available for use in the context menu.

That's because unfortunately the latest version of nautilus-actions hasn't been uploaded to Ubuntu. That latest version -- starting with 2.29.4 -- should contain the fix for this bug.

Well unless I'm missing something that seems to be partially true, the 2.29.4 version does work as in it starts up and allows creation of actions.

The newly created actions are not seen in the r. click context menu though.

(2.29.4 does work in karmic.

    - Implement full drag and drop.
    - Implement full cut/copy/paste clipboard support.
    - Allow an administrator to lock all the configuration.
    - Fully manage readonly items.
    - Fix #607704 reported by Sense Hofstede (LP: #506125)
