Bug Description

As a follow up for bug 363990, I've noticed that the following strings have also got incorrectly translated variables, and might also cause the application to crash:

https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/language-selector/+pots/language-selector/he/+translate?batch=10&show=all&search=%s

Until someone corrects them, I've demoted the translations to suggestions in Launchpad

It looks like the %s, %s is translated in a strange way in Hebrew

Maybe I'm missing something

It may be the directionality that makes it look that way.

Someone seems to have accepted the suggestions without change, and I believe they are still wrong. To the Hebrew team: do you think you could review them again?

Looking at other translated PO files in Hebrew, it seems to confirm that variables must be translated as they are, that is, %s.

It looks like Rosetta interface is handling RTL strings. I will download the PO file and take a look at the original text.

Meanwhile I have assigned this problem to ubuntu-l10n-he as they can help with this matter.

Cheers

This string is corect, just that Rosseta is displaying it in RTL

This is the PO file

#: ../LanguageSelector/gtk/GtkLanguageSelector.py:418
#, python-format
msgid "%s, %s"
msgstr "%s, %s"

These are exactly the same string as mentioned by Adi, I can add an RLM or
LRM mark if needed

Where does this text appear and what do the %s stand for?

Yaron, unfortunalty there is no comment associated with the string (this can be another bug).

So currently it should be as is (the current string is copied from the
original one)
If anyone knows what should appear instead of these variables I can make the
string more accurate using the RLM and LRM unicode chars respectfully

The missing translation comment is:

"Translators: this string will concatenate the "%n to install" and "%n to remove" strings, you can replace the comma if you need to."

The comment was in the wrong location, I have moved it to the correct spot.
