Due to the behavior of autopano-noop.sh, included by upstream, patching would no-longer be required if our autopano program name and arguments matched those used by both upstream and Debian.
It would probably good to figure out the reason for the discrepancy anyway.

Currently:
Ubuntu: autopano-complete --points %p -o %o %i
Debian and upstream: autopano-sift-c --maxmatches %p --projection %f,%v %o %i

With that patch no-longer required, the only step in this merge is adding autopano-sift to the Depends.

Merged. Uploaded to my ppa:

Tested a stitch with the assistant, and a stitch to HDR.

Removed now incorrect "- Don't install autopano-noop." from changelog and put autopano-sift-c before autopano-sift in depends.

This is a two line change from Debian: Adding a depends on autopano, and adding a config line to enable autopano by default.

As explained in irc, as this package is still in experimental, it won't get approved at that level for karmic.
For the moment, I'll unsubscribe u-u-s. Please subscribe Ubuntu Sponsors for Universe again either after Karmic is released, or after hugin 2009.2.0 lands in testing.
