Bug Description

I am inside a drawing with >0 number of elements and I view/look at XML with CTRL + SHIFT + X.
I am opening a new draing from OPEN recent and the windows with drawing are iterated one over each other (flashed one by one) probably by the xml editor which is opened !

Please check and fix ;)

It would be nice to have a UNDO (CTRL+Z) for when inside creating bezier curves and straight lines. When these are really long is a mess to make a error and press by mistake esc :)

Regards

Hi

I was unable to post more in the Launchpad... !

Did you saw the first part which is the bug ?

I am inside a drawing with >0 number of elements and I view/look at XML with CTRL + SHIFT + X.
I am opening a new draing from OPEN recent and the windows with drawing are iterated one over each other (flashed one by one) probably by the xml editor which is opened !

about bezier

*** You can delete the previously drawn nodes with the delete key
*** while in the bezier tool. (should function just like the Undo feature you desire)

THERE is the problem ! If I would have a undo when pressing ESC, when inside creation of a Bezier, I would avoid editing later a very long path I want to create in one bezier... I would just undo one or few times the latest nodes and than I would continue the creation. Pressing 2 times left click for example or enter would finish my editing ... ( It sound good for me :))

With kind regards

Petronel

Having the same problem. Opening a file when the XML editor is open causes the program to go into some sort of recursion where all the windows flash. I tried leaving it for a few minutes to see if it would sort itself out, but I usually have to kill the program.

This is a real problem. I quite often need to have the XML editor open, and I also regularly open previous files to borrow pieces from them. If I don't remember to close the XML editor first then I have to kill the program and often lose recent changes as a result.

Running under Windows Vista.

Still can't reproduce the issue on Windows XP. Tested with 0.46, 0.47 and 0.48.
Could you please confirm you still run into this bug (or not) with the latest stable Inkscape version (http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/files/inkscape/0.48.1/Inkscape-0.48.1-2.exe/download)?
