[MASTER] FFe: please sync with upstream version of Gnash .8.6

I'll pick this up on my plate. Hopefully it will be done in the next few days.

please talk to me in #ubuntu-mozillateam or #gnash ... we have branches etc. lets get this done this week.

Is there a PPA for us Jaunty users? The gnash-ppa is quite old (0.8.4)

( Debian has 0.8.6-1 now to base on, http://packages.qa.debian.org/g/gnash.html )

we have a different package than debian. i dont think we want to sync this cycle.

i assume that sundhudweep will request a merge for our gnash branch soonish. otherwise i will look into this. if nothing happens until beta is out, please ping me on irc directly.

Till the official package is released, there is a build of 0.8.6 in the gnash team ppa. See https://edge.launchpad.net/~gnash/+archive/ppa.

Known Issues:
  * Due to a brain fart on my part I didn't correctly choose a ppa version number so the official karmic package will not supersede the ppa. Use at your own risk.

Additional Request for Testing:
Unfortunately I think the ppa builders don't exist/work for arm,mips,and ppc which are the usual platforms I'm concerned about for flash support. I'd appreciate it if someone with an Frescale i.MX 51 or omap 3xxx board could test this package.

Basically the same we had every cycle so far :) ... asking for FFe from motu-release to rubberstamp our karmic gnash update.

Risk/Benefit ratio is quite good and we don't plan to do any packaging changes.

Perhaps we should consider adding gnash to the standing FFe list for Lucid.

+1 from me as well, FFe granted.
I'm not too if adding it to the standing FFe list for Lucid would be better or declare that gnash is Alexander's terrain. Imho either would make sense, *shrug*.

My mistake previously if I had the status as "in progress".

From my reading of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess the status should be confirmed once the FFE has been granted.

This bug was fixed in the package gnash - 0.8.6-0ubuntu1
