Bug Description

I tried different ways to install Eucalyptus on ubuntu 9.04, with no luck. I first tried the following "package" installation:

On the front-end, "apt-get install eucalyptus-cloud eucalyptus-cc"; and on the node controller, "apt-get install eucalyptus-nc". These processes completed with no errors. Both cloud controller and cluster controller appeared up and running on the front-end.

When I followed the instruction to add the very first cluster on the front-end, "euca_conf -addcluster MyCluster01 localhost", it returned with: "ERROR: cannot locate entry in eucalyptus database, try logging in through the admin web interface". Why should the user even care about the internal database entries at this point?

Then on a web browser, I tried to access "https://<front-end>:8443" without being able to connect. The service is not there. I tried for hours with no success. Coming back the next day, I tried again and, surprise, I got a login screen. Now, how long is the delay? Is it even normal?

When I tried to log in, however, it does not take the default first-time 'admin/admin' as login/password. The message is "Error: Username 'admin' not found".

I even tried the latest Eucalyptus 1.5.2 on a clean-installed OS but came to the same spot...

The issues are show-stoppers, at least in my case. I'd appreciate any pointers and help for me to get over these hurdles. Thanks.
