Bug Description

Binary package hint: isight-firmware-tools

This bug was sent manually, but the text was written to a template, as I have several similar bugs to report today. Please see my recent bug reports for a list, or bug #391165 for the root cause.

Version 1.4.1-1 of isight-firmware-tools has a backslash at the end of the line(s) in the "Build-Dependencies" section of debian/control. There shouldn't be a backslash in the area(s) marked by ***asterisks***:

Build-Depends: debhelper (>= 5), autotools-dev, cdbs, dpatch, po-debconf,***\***
       intltool, libglib2.0-dev, libgcrypt11-dev, libusb-dev, libhal-dev

This is currently allowed because of bug #391165. However, isight-firmware-tools will fail to build once that bug has been fixed. This bug can be fixed by removing all end-of-line backslashes.

Why have you removed your patch if it was the correct one?

I did think it was a bit weird myself, because it's not what's on the wiki pathing recipe, but I went along with it because I presumed karmic had a newer version of update-maintainer. I'll check the wiki sometime and update it if applicable :)

Thanks for your work, this is fixed in version 1.4.2-1 in debian/unstable. We currently don't have a diff to debian and it would be better to file a sync request for the new version.

Gah! Sorry about that, the maintainer didn't include it in the changelog entry, and there was no bug filed for it. Should've caught that.

So should I turn this bug into a sync request, or set up a new sync request bug?
