Bug Description
Binary package hint: evolution
Dragging a column header in mail listing and dropping it anywhere, but one of the possible positions in the heading bar currently makes the column disappear from the table. When I'm ordering the columns I'd expect the column to go back to it's original location, when I let it go without taking it to any sane new location. That is how drag'n'drop usually works. If I actually wanted to remove a column (that doesn't happen too often) I'd be perfectly ok with right clicking on the header and selecting "remove this column".
The column disappearing is inconvenient, but I can open up the "add a column" window and return it back. What disturbs me more is that some times I actually remove the columns without even noticing. I'm an experienced user, yet I'm still confused when things seem to disappear "on their own". My best guess is that I accidentally drop them into emptiness while doing other things, such as ordering the table by column or fail to click on the first email message. I'm afraid Joe Average does that too and it might not be too easy for him to get his lost columns back.
