Bug Description

Binary package hint: gvfs

This is when installing Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha 4, i386, from a live desktop CD.

Package version of 'gvfs' is that on alpha 4 live CD:
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ apt-cache policy gvfs
gvfs:
  Instalados: 1.1.5-0ubuntu1
  Candidato: 1.1.5-0ubuntu1
  Tabla de versión:
 *** 1.1.5-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

The crash in gvfsd-trash happened while in the installer, but seems unrelated (I didn't delete anything nor touch the recycling bin icon). It happened between steps 6 and 7 in the installer (i.e. from filling account info to migrating docs and settings found in winXP). The installer seems well and is now installing Jaunty alpha 4 to the hard disk without problems.

Computer has just windows XP. It's an old PIII 1GHz tower with 10 GB hard disk and 512 MB RAM, very handy. It has 3 partitions: winXP's NTFS one (4 GB), swap (1 GB) and ext3 (4.5 GB). Swap and ext3 partitions created with Gparted before using the installer.

i have some approximate idea of what the problem is and i can reproduce a variant of this bug.

it's an insane logic problem and i have to think about it a little more. i'll have a fix in a little while.
