Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnumeric-doc
Xubuntu does not install gnumeric-doc. It is listed as a suggested item for gnumeric-gtk which is installed by default.
When the user opens gnumeric and clicks on 'Help -> Contents' they get an error message:
Unable to load page
The requested URI 'ghelp:gnumeric' is invalid
instead of the help file. Help is available by selecting 'Help -> Gnumeric on the Web', then selecting 'User Manual' from the gnumeric website that opened in Firefox. Since gnumeric-doc is a suggested item for a pre-installed package, most users will not know they need to install it to enable the help file.
Reproducable:
Applications -> Office -> Gnumeric Spreadsheet; after gnumeric opens, Help -> Contents
Version of Xubuntu:
8.04.1
8.10
9.04
Version of Gnumeric:
gnumeric-gtk 1.8.2-1ubuntu1
gnumeric-gtk 1.8.3-3ubuntu2
gnumeric-gtk 1.8.3-5ubuntu1
Version of Gnumeric-doc:
gnumeric-doc 1.8.2-1ubuntu1
gnumeric-doc 1.8.3-3ubuntu2
gnumeric-doc 1.8.3-5ubuntu1
I think gnumeric-doc should be installed with gnumeric-gtk, which would avoid users confusion about missing help file. This needs to be fixed in Hardy Heron 8.04.1, Intrepid Ibex 8.10, and Jaunty Jackalope 9.04. Both Intrepid and Jaunty install gnumeric also, with gnumeric-doc as a suggests.

Here's a debdiff. I chose to put gnumeric-doc under recommends, rather than depends. I'll submit debdiffs for Intrepid and Hardy once this gets accepted.
