Bug Description

its would be good if i can set what right and left mouse buttons do on tray icon.

for example left click shows list of pads in contect menu and right click is menu with preferences and etc. (as tomboy do)

sorry for constant references to tomboy but its really convenient

I'd rather make the button actions be more useful than make them configurable. I assume you're saying you don't find the current actions as useful as tomboy's?

Xpad's current context menu has both a list of notes and preferences. You're saying you'd rather not have the current left-click action at all, replaced by part of the context menu?

the main reason why I created this bug report - I really don't like "show all" behaviour on left click.
I'd rather said "show all" absolutely useless for me. that's why I want configurable mouse actions.
in tomboy we have notes list on left click. maybe somebody prefer "show all" but not me. and I sure i'm not only.

This's a mockup highlighting how functions separation (pads vs. application) could improve usability.

Moreover this'll be more similar to Gnome applications behaviour.

I implemented left click on tray icon configuration in https://code.launchpad.net/~sachinr/xpad/xpad-tray-config branch.
Currently, it has following options:
1. Toggle show all
2. New note
3. Do nothing

I've already written my own note-taking application.

Hi Rion,

Although you have written your own application, we value your input.
With the current proposed, and I believe already developed solution, of Sachin, you can configure the left mouse click on the tray icon with one of the following options.

1. Toggle show all
2. New note
3. Do nothing

What do you think of this solution?

Regards,
Arthur Borsboom.
