Bug Description

* Warning, while verifying this bug don't leave the shutdown dialog open, it shuts your system down in 60 seconds! *

On freshly installed and up to date intrepid ibex

1/ I press the power button wanting to hibernate, and the shut down dialog comes up as expected.
2/ But, the dialog isn't in focus! (seems odd, maybe I should report this as a separate bug? same thing happens from the system-shutdown menu)
3/ I press alt-tab to focus the dialog
4/ I press alt-h to hibernate, expecting it to hibernate, but nothing happens
5/ I press it again, and it just cycles the selection between the 'hibernate' and 'help' buttons
6/ I give up and use the mouse

both buttons have the 'h' underlined, so this is a simple hotkey clash

I can confirm this bug still exists in Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 dev. There is still a hotkey clash, and the window isn't in focus.

Is this likely to be fixed in Jaunty? It's quite an annoying bug, it bites me a couple of times a day.

no, changing the strings would mean break all the translations now

This bug has been around for ages now, and should be pretty easy to fix. I don't understand why it can't be fixed - just update the translations. It's only one single character that needs to be updated: the letter 'H'.

the translations match an english string, if the reference string change the translations need to be revalidated by translators which is not automatic and can take a while, not something to change after string freeze now

Will this be fixed in 9.10?

I can confirm that this is still a problem in Karmic alpha-3 .

This is crazy, this bug is so easy to fix, it should have been fixed by now. This needs to be fixed urgently before any more code revisions.
