[kde4] Can't configure advanced printer options

Bug Description

Binary package hint: system-config-printer-kde

Extra printer options are not available for configuration for larger printers, options missing are finisher and drawer options such as type of finisher, hole punch, stapler, number of trays and paper sizes to go with them, etc.

Just to clarify so we can try to address the problem. Are you saying the options you want are present in the GUI but are disabled or are you saying that these features are absent all together?

The features are missing alltogether, I can configure them with the cups administration via http://localhost:631, and when printing the options are available from openoffice, firefox, and kde4/3 applications, but they can't be setup with the currently included kde printer config tool.

For instance - if you setup a multifunction printer such as the toshiba e-studio 3511 there are optional components that can be installed, there are a lot of options that can't be set, department codes, and private password, as well as those listed in the bug report.

If you view the attached screenshot - most of the features listed in advanced can't be set with the current printer config too.
