Erm, not really. When you post a needs-packaging request on Brainstorm you get flooded with "This isn't an idea" comments and your idea gets locked, being marked as Not An Idea.

This won't happen before Jaunty, assuming it's packaged in Debian.

Version 2.5.1 is out and we are still in 2.2.0

I think we should forward this to debian to have a package for jaunty

Nikolaus Filus (nfilus) wrote :

As already noted the upstream is already at 2.5.1, but debian-upstream is still at 2.2.0 and so ubuntu can't sync :(
Can we push debian to sync now or push ubuntu to have a newer version than debian?
BTW:
Add Build-depend on libgtkspell-dev and libaspell-dev
to enable the SwitchSpell plugin (compare with #246905)

There is already an updated package (version 2.5.1) prepared here:

which should resolve this bug.

What should be done to have a sponsored upload to universe?

this release worthy :)

Hi,

If you want to get this in Karmic then you will need a freeze exception. Please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess for the details of how to go about this.

Thanks for your work!

I wouldn't rely on that because a while ago I sent an updated package to the Debian maintainer.
He initally responded but still the package in Debian hasn't been updated.

BTW purple-plugin-pack 2.6.0 has already been released

When you refer to the Debian maintainer, do you mean Benjamin Seidenberg ?

Yes.

Subscribing motu-release for a feature freeze exception.
I haven't tested all plugins (there are just too many) but I think it's worth upgrading as the current version in the archive is very old and has quite a few known bugs that the new version will fix.

gaim-irchelper is just a dummy transitional package.
The irchelper plugin has been integrated into the plugin pack some time ago (before hardy).
Therefore it's dropped by Michael's package update.

      package.
    - Added intltool to Build-Depends as build fails without it.

      dir when cleaning.
    - Uncommented call to dh_makeshlibs. We are not building shared libraries.

Is there someone who would like to take up official sponsorship of this package in debian?
I am asking here because the last contributors of the package in ubuntu are already subsribed and probably they would be the firsts to be interested.

If someone wants and has the time and the will to take care of it, it would be great; I could also provide some guidance if needed.
If not, I could adopt the package myself, but I wouldn't like to "steal" it from someone already working on it.

Please let me know.
