 - Are the changes in _linkchecker_configdata.py necessary?
 - Can we forward the python de-versioning to Debian?

The changes in _linkchecker_configdata.py are autogenerated, so no.
I forwarded it to debian. Assigning to me in case we can make a sync in future or when not doing the merge.
