Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-do
Hi,
It would be great if you could disable info level
logging in the package.
Currently ~/.xsession-errors is filled with repetitive
messages from gnome-do as it updates its caches
and the like. It ends with
...Too much output, ignoring rest...
which I presume is something limiting the length
of the file to stop it from filling your home directory.
I have just had a gnome-panel crash, and wanted
to check the file to see if there was anything useful
about the crash in there, but I couldn't see it as
the log was already truncated. That's why I think
this problem is more serious than just some
unwanted messages.
The output is quite useful at startup, I have
looked at it several times, and is presumably
still useful to developers, that is why I would
just like it turned off in the package.
Thanks,
James
Why are those saved there? Did you start Do with your session? Maybe all
stdout from processes started with your session are dumped in there? If so,
we should just disable console logging on --quiet.
