Bug Description

Binary package hint: lcdproc

Hello,

I own a Matrix Orbital K202-24-USB Intelligent VFD.

The current package in Gutsy, and it looks like it is the same in Hardy, "features" a regression with USB displays using the MtxOrb driver.

The regression is characterised by weird stuff being displayed (V and |).

Reverting to the Feisty packages fixes the issue.

The problem is known :

http://lists.omnipotent.net/pipermail/lcdproc/2007-October/011957.html

The fix is in lcdproc CVS:

I backported the new version of the hardy package to gutsy and tested.

It looks like all the regression has not been fixed, I still get the weird char display.

I'll talk to upstream.

Ethan Dicks from lcdproc put it right in front of me: I'm an idiot.

Looking at the dpatch should have told me to configure lcdproc as a "vkd" in order to have a proper display.

Thanks Ethan, thanks Mario.

lcdproc (0.5.2-0ubuntu2) does indeed fix the issue.

Now I'm off finding a dpatch for my poor brain...
